Maple Hill barely beat Cairo-Durham the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wildcats' pitchers stepped up to hand the Mustangs a 9-0 shutout on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won six games by nine runs or more so far this season.

The victory (which was Maple Hill's fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.2 runs over those games. As for Cairo-Durham, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.

Looking ahead, Maple Hill will take on Berlin/New Lebanon at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cairo-Durham, they will challenge Coxsackie-Athens at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
