Erie lost to Brighton back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Tigers came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 5-1.

Maddox Burnett made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Burnett was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

In other batting news, Ronin Ward was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Taylor McMaster was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Erie has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Brighton, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Erie didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-3 defeat against Silver Creek on the 8th. As for Brighton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 12-0 win against Northglenn on the 8th.
