Softball Recap: Forest Wins Going Away Against Lake Weir

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Forest). They blew past the Lake Weir Hurricanes 14-2 on Thursday. That's more bragging rights for the Wildcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Jaiden Prestipino was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and two runs. Those runs marked the first that she scored this season. Olivia Lewis was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 5-for-5.

Forest kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

The win made it two in a row for Forest and bumps their season record up to 2-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 runs over those games. As for Lake Weir, their loss was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats take on the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lake Weir, they will head out to square off against Buchholz at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
