Softball Recap: Yellow Medicine East Wins Going Away Against Renville County West

Yellow Medicine East had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Renville County West on Thursday. The Sting were the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over the Jaguars. With that win, the Sting brought their scoring average up to 6.9 runs per game.

Bayli Sneller made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four runs. She also hit a triple, marking her first of the season.

In other batting news, Riley Haar and Alana Almich did most of the damage at the plate: Haar went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Almich got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those hits marked the first that Haar has got this season. Another player making a difference was Brianna Nelson, who went 3-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
