Eastside moved up to 482 from 520 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Golden. The Lions climbed the ranks as a result of beating Knight 26-10.
Lancaster lost to Antelope Valley 50-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Cameron French was a force in the backfield as the Antelopes bested the Eagles.
French was a passing and rushing force as Antelope Valley topped Lancaster.
Jalen Singleton put up the best numbers through the air as Eastside defeated the Hawks. He finished with a total of 5 completions for 82 yards and 2 touchdowns. Singleton's favorite target this week was Airistica Gilliam, who caught 2 passes for 48 yards.
6-foot-2 quarterback Singleton of Richard Lear's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 565. He has also thrown 8 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Jamire Jordan. The Highland star has 14 catches for 398 yards.
Next week's game between the Lions and Littlerock will feature a good passing match up as Singleton will test his arm against Daniel Lucatero's defensive ability.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Highland takes on Quartz Hill. As it stands, the Bulldogs are in fifth, while the Rebels are in first.
Eastside made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,793 from 7,312. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 26-10 victory over Knight last week.
