Baseball Game Preview: Durant Lions vs. Will Rogers College Ropers

Durant is a perfect 4-0 against Will Rogers College since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Lions will take on the Ropers at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Durant will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Friday, then bounced right back against Muskogee on Saturday. The Lions walked away with a 12-9 victory over the Roughers.

Keyvan Dollar looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

At the plate, Aiden Diviney was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Durant is 7-1 when Diviney posts two or more runs, but 3-8 otherwise. Eli McClure was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run and two runs.

Meanwhile, Will Rogers College was able to grind out a solid win over Liberty on Saturday, taking the game 9-5.

Will Rogers College's record now sits at 4-18. As for Durant, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Everything went Durant's way against Will Rogers College in their previous matchup back in April of 2019, as Durant made off with a 22-0 victory. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Ropers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
