The Mountain View Spartans will head out to take on the Los Altos Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Mountain View easily dispatched Half Moon Bay on Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Mountain View fell just short of Homestead by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Spartans couldn't push the score so high this time.

| 03/25/25 @ Half Moon Bay | 1 |
| 03/20/25 @ Wilcox | 0 |
Allison Marcelino spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
The home team had come away the winner the last seven times Los Altos and Wilcox had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Los Altos skirted past Wilcox 3-1. The game was the first time the Eagles have beaten the Chargers on their field since April 24, 2021.
Los Altos also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Kaylyn Cox gave up only one earned run on six hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Makayla Mase, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in February. Emily Hanken also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Los Altos' win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-5. As for Mountain View, they dropped their record down to 3-7 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.
Los Altos' hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Mountain View has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Los Altos, though, as they've been averaging only 3.9 strikeouts. Will Mountain View keep running through batters, or will Los Altos buck the trend?
Mountain View took their victory against Los Altos in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 9-3. Will Mountain View repeat their success, or does Los Altos has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
