Basketball Preview: Potomac School Panthers vs. Georgetown Visitation Prep Cubs
Potomac School is 1-6 against the Cubs since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Potomac School Panthers will be playing at home against the Georgetown Visitation Prep Cubs at 5:45 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Potomac School is ranked highly in their home state, and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the Bulldogs. Potomac School lost to the Bulldogs at home by a decisive 64-50 margin. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Potomac School in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost five in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Sabrina Anderson, who scored 15 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Zora Burrell, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, Georgetown Visitation Prep came up short against the Huskies on Thursday and fell 50-42.
Potomac School's loss dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Georgetown Visitation Prep, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.
Everything went Potomac School's way against the Cubs in their previous matchup two weeks ago as the Panthers made off with a 63-42 win. Will Potomac School repeat their success, or do the Cubs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
