Soccer Game Preview: Jamestown vs. York

The Jamestown Eagles will head out to face off against the York Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Jamestown is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

Jamestown is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They put the hurt on Grafton with a sharp 12-0 win on Thursday. Jamestown's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matchups.

Meanwhile, York unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against Smithfield, falling 6-0. Having soared to a lofty eight goals in the game before, York's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Jamestown's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for York, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.

Jamestown took their victory against York in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
