 There's no place like home for Middletown South, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  last Thursday. They skirted past Ranney  5-3. This was payback for Middletown South, who suffered  a  13-1  defeat the last time these two teams met.
 Middletown South got a great performance from  Mason Christopher as he  struck out seven batters over  5.1 innings while giving up  three earned runs off   five  hits.
 On the hitting side,  Brevin Bezick was a standout: he scored a  run and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Rob Chiusano, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-2.
 Middletown South is  on a roll lately: they've  won seven of their last nine games,  which provided a nice bump to their 14-5-1 record  this season. As for Ranney, their loss  ended  a  five-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 14-7.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Middletown South will  square off against Jackson Memorial at 3:45  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Ranney, they will head out on the road to  take on  St. Rose at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
