Baseball Recap: Mccallie's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak at Home

McCallie was the 8-5 winner over Chattanooga Christian when they last played one another on Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Blue Tornado came up short against the Chargers on Tuesday, falling 14-7.

Nathan Eastman was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Mateo Rodriguez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kelby Barnett, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

McCallie's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-12. As for Chattanooga Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McCallie will challenge Red Bank at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Chattanooga Christian, they will take on Notre Dame at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers are facing the Fighting Irish at the right time seeing as the Fighting Irish are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
