Football Recap: Christ Covenant Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After soaring to 35 points the game before, Christ Covenant was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They lost 30-6 to the Prairie View Academy Spartans. Christ Covenant was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 23-0.

Prairie View Academy found their leader in sophomore Nathan Stokes, who rushed for 79 yards and one TD on only eight carries, and also threw for 137 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only nine passes.

Christ Covenant's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Prairie View Academy, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Christ Covenant will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Delta Streets Academy at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. As for Prairie View Academy, they will square off against Briarfield Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rebels' defense has only allowed 11.2 points per game this season, so the Spartans' offense will have their work cut out for them.
