Baseball Recap: Purdy Has No Trouble Against Exeter

After losing to Exeter the last time they met, Purdy decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Eagles put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 12-5 victory on Friday. Considering the Eagles have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The win made it two in a row for Purdy and bumps their season record up to 15-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Exeter, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Purdy will face off against Miller at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. As for Exeter, they will square off against Wheaton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
