Basketball Recap: Ridgecroft Takes a Loss

Ridgecroft was the 36-25 winner over Lawrence Academy when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Ridgecroft Rams took a blow against the Lawrence Academy Warriors on Tuesday, falling 68-35. The Rams were down 54-25 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Claire Smith continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lawrence Academy, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 12 boards. Smith's evening made it ten games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jaslene Etheridge, who went 5 of 10 en route to 15 points along with six boards and five steals.

Ridgecroft's defeat dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Lawrence Academy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-6.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Albemarle School the next time they take the court. Lawrence Academy will host Albemarle School at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Ridgecroft will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on January 21st.
