Basketball Recap: Marksville Makes It Six in a Row at Home

Marksville had won five straight home games dating back to last season and Dayne Small did his part to make it six on Tuesday. The Marksville Tigers took their match with ease, bagging a 60-30 victory over the Rapides Mustangs thanks in part to Small, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 16 points. The contest was his fourth in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Lavalais, who posted eight points and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last four games he's played.

Marksville's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Rapides, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Marksville Tigers duke it out with the Madison Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rapides, they and Buckeye will face off at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played.
