Baseball Recap: Miami Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Miami has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 2.69 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They lost 10-0 to the Doral Academy Firebirds. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Stingarees haven't been shut out since back in February.

Miami saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jason Cruz-Carabali, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double was Cruz-Carabali's first of the season.

Miami's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Doral Academy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-2-1.

Miami and Doral Academy should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Miami will challenge Mater Bay Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday up 311 places (258 vs. 569). Miami is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. Similarly, Doral Academy (ranked 54th) will meet Gulliver Prep (ranked 475th) at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
