It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Winfield had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Gordo Green Wave by a score of 7-2. Winning may never get old, but the Pirates sure are getting used to it with their 17th in a row.

Winfield's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 34-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Gordo, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 28-16.
