Football Recap: Saugus Starts Season with Win Against Buena + How To Watch

Saugus gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They strolled past the Buena Bulldogs with points to spare, taking the game 35-16. The Centurions haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Ty Hall was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 86 yards and four TDs.

Saugus didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Buena to a completion percentage of just 46.2%. The Centurions weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 76%.

Saugus didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Matt Long, Nolan Campeau, and Teddy Knott picked up one apiece.

Defeat or not, Buena got some senior leadership from Christian Quezada and Jaxon Roberts. Quezada picked up 122 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Roberts rushed for 124 yards on only 13 carries.

Looking ahead, Saugus will head out to square off against Oak Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Buena, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
