Thunderbird dropped down to 15-12 on Friday, ending the team's eight-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Scottsdale Preparatory Academy Spartans by a score of 2-1. The Titans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Thunderbird lost, don't look at Ema-Lee Burke. Despite the final result, she had 22 digs. Burke has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last seven times she's played.

As for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since September 20th.

Scottsdale Preparatory Academy was led to victory by Brielle Amarel and Sophia Lee. Amarel had nine digs and three aces, while Lee had five digs and three aces.
