Softball Recap: Lake Nona Falls Short of Boone in the Playoffs

Lake Nona and Boone squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Lake Nona had to settle for second. They lost 13-0 to the Braves. The Lions were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the four matches prior), but the Braves' pitcher proved too tough.

Lake Nona saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maria Trujillo, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Lake Nona's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-7. As for Boone, their record now sits at 13-10.

Lake Nona does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Boone, they will face off against Cypress Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Braves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bears have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season.
