Soccer Recap: Chowchilla Victorious

Chowchilla kept a clean sheet against Sierra Pacific on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Sierra Pacific Golden Bears, sneaking past 1-0. Given the Tribe's advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 370th, while the Golden Bears are ranked 883rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Chowchilla's one-goal win came courtesy of David Perez-Borges, who's now up to three this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Chowchilla and bumps their season record up to 6-1-3. As for Sierra Pacific, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8-1.

Chowchilla will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Washington Union at 2:00 p.m. on December 30th. Sierra Pacific will also get a bit of a break before their next matchup: they'll face off against Central Valley Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
