Basketball Game Preview: West Iredell Warriors vs. West Wilkes Blackhawks

West Iredell hasn't had much luck against West Wilkes recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Warriors are taking a road trip to square off against the Blackhawks at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

West Iredell is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against St. Stephens last Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Warriors lost 59-34 to the Indians. The Warriors were down 43-21 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Meanwhile, West Wilkes scored the most points they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 49-30 bruising from South Caldwell.

West Wilkes' defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for West Iredell, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

West Iredell lost to West Wilkes on the road by a decisive 68-53 margin in their previous meeting back in December of 2019. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
