Baseball Game Preview: Metcalfe County Hornets vs. Adair County Indians

Metcalfe County hasn't had much luck against Adair County recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Hornets will be playing at home against the Indians at 5:00 p.m.

On Thursday, Metcalfe County came up short against Hart County and fell 6-3.

Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Adair County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over Larue County. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Bryce Russell made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Brayton Coomer was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Adair County pushed their record up to 17-8 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Metcalfe County, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.
