Dayton entered their tilt with Pomeroy on Friday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They came out on top against the Pirates by a score of 18-13. 18 seems to be a good number for the Bulldogs as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Dayton got a massive performance out of Cindi Howard, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Howard is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Kylie Wheatley was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Dayton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .683. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .553 or higher in five consecutive games.

Dayton's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Pomeroy, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Dayton and Pomeroy will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Bulldogs see the field they'll take on Tekoa-Rosalia at 3:00 p.m. on the 15th. As for Pomeroy, their break will end when they face Colton at 4:00 p.m. on the 15th.
