Volleyball Recap: Mountain View Academy Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Mountain View Academy lost against Luis Valdez Leadership Academy back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mustangs fell just short of the Lions by a score of 3-2. While the Mustangs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Lions 25-20 in the first set.

Mountain View Academy wouldn't go down easily and took Luis Valdez Leadership Academy into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-16, 25-19, 22-25, 15-10.

Mountain View Academy's offense was headlined by Isadora DeSouza and Myka Chan, who picked up eight kills apiece. Chan really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 32. DeSouza was also solid from the service line: she led the team with eight aces.

Among those leading the charge was Andrea Mata Alejo, who had five kills and four aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last seven matchups.

Mountain View Academy now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Luis Valdez Leadership Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Mountain View Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Summit Tahoma on the 1st. As for Luis Valdez Leadership Academy, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against ACE Charter on the 2nd.
