Volleyball Recap: Akron Rams vs. Otis Bulldogs

Akron lost against Otis back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Rams took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. The shutout was out of character for the Rams seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in August.

Molly O'Neil paced Akron's offense, picking up three kills. O'Neil got some help from Madison Woods and her four assists.

Raya Grimes-Routh was the offensive standout of the match as she had 11 digs and three aces. Those three aces gave her a new career-high.

Akron has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Otis, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-2.

Akron didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Stratton on the 27th. As for Otis, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against McClave on the 27th.
