            Volleyball Preview: Middle Creek Mustangs vs. West Johnston Wildcats        
        
		
        
        
            The Middle Creek Mustangs will face off against the West Johnston Wildcats at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Both come into the  match bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
Middle Creek proved they can win big  last Thursday (they won by three) and  on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  3-2  victory over Holly Springs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Mustangs have posted  against the Golden Hawks since September 2, 2021.
 Middle Creek wouldn't go down easily and took Holly Springs into a fifth set  where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-18, 25-20, 17-25,  16-14.
 Middle Creek can attribute much of their success to   Cameron Gerber, who  had 27  digs and two  aces, and   Addison Davis, who  had eight  digs and two  aces.
 Meanwhile,  it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but West Johnston had no problem doing just that  on Saturday. They were the clear victors by  a  3-0 margin over the Trojans. The Wildcats not only won  on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win  since September 11th (when they won  3-0).
 Middle Creek is  on a roll lately: they've  won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record  this season. As for West Johnston, their victory bumped their record up to 13-11.
