Softball Recap: Monroe Vikings vs. Chavez Eagles
Monday just wasn't the day for Monroe's offense. They suffered a rough 21-0 loss at the hands of the Chavez Eagles on Monday. Monroe just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.
For Chavez's part, Kailey Duran was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Duran has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive pitching appearances. Duran was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
