Volleyball Recap: Providence Takes a Loss

Providence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Ventura Cougars.

Ventura found their leader in sophomore Fletcher Duffey, who had 15 digs and one assist. Duffey is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 15 or more in each of the last 11 games he's played.

Providence's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Ventura, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.

Providence will challenge Dunn at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots are facing the Earwigs at the right time seeing as the Earwigs are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Ventura, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Pacifica on the 18th.
