Volleyball Recap: Lee County Takes a Loss

Lee County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Fort Walton Beach Vikings.

Lee County took Fort Walton Beach into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-20, 19-25, 23-25, 15-12.

Leading Fort Walton Beach to victory were Hadley Maynard and Ally Ritter. Maynard had 20 assists and seven digs, while Ritter had 13 digs and four assists. Those four assists gave Ritter a new career-high. Aniyah Boyd also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Lee County's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Fort Walton Beach, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Lee County has already played their next matchup (against Arnold), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Fort Walton Beach, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Bartram Trail on the 30th.
