Football Recap: Andrew Huggins and Bryson Penson Pace Lafayette Defense + How To Watch

After losing to Ridgeland the last time they met, LaFayette decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Ramblers had just enough and edged out the Panthers 16-13.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed ten in total. All came from Harrison Gilstrap: he went 3-for-3 kicking field goals for nine points and added another on an extra point kick.

LaFayette didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Andrew Huggins and Bryson Penson. Huggins is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season.

LaFayette's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.3 points on average over those games. As for Ridgeland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

LaFayette will face off against Northwest Whitfield at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Ramblers will need to watch out since the Bruins have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups. As for Ridgeland, they will square off against Calhoun at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Yellow Jackets have now posted at least 31 points in their last four games.
