Basketball Game Preview: Germantown Academy Patriots vs. Haverford School Fords

The Germantown Academy Patriots will square off against the Haverford School Fords at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Germantown Academy is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

Last Saturday, Germantown Academy came up short against Malvern Prep and fell 62-49. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 258th, while the Friars are ranked 55th).

Haverford School has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 48-46 heartbreaker at the hands of Malvern Prep. The contest marked the Fords' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Haverford School's defeat dropped their record down to 12-2. As for Germantown Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.

Germantown Academy ended up a good deal behind Haverford School in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, losing 82-63. Can Germantown Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
