Basketball Game Preview: Rampart Rams vs. Pueblo Central Wildcats

The Rampart Rams will square off against the Pueblo Central Wildcats at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Rampart has now lost 11 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since January 9.

Rampart is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Fountain-Fort Carson on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Rampart came up short against Fountain-Fort Carson, falling 62-36. The Rams were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-15.

Despite the loss, Rampart had strong showings from Arabelle Madril, who shot 4-for-7 from downtown and dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds, and Claire Colosimo, who went 5-for-8 en route to 11 points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Colosimo a new career-high in field goal percentage (63%).

Meanwhile, Pueblo Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 34-29 heartbreaker at the hands of Pueblo County.

Rampart will have to contain Alliana Martinez as she made an impact in Pueblo Central's last game. She posted ten points.
