Softball Recap: St. Martin Comes Up Short

St. Martin lost against Harrison Central back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Yellow Jackets fell 4-1 to the Red Rebels.

St. Martin got a good showing from Miranda Ladnier, who tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ladnier has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 19 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, St. Martin saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maggie Renfrow, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

St. Martin has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season. As for Harrison Central, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-15.

St. Martin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Harrison Central, they are taking a road trip to challenge Pearl River Central at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Blue Devils will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
