Softball Recap: Dan River Comes Up Short

Dan River fell victim to Patrick County and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 11-4 to the Cougars when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Dan River dropped their record down to 1-2 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Patrick County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Coming up, Dan River will face off against Tunstall at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Tunstall's pitching crew has only allowed 1.2 runs per game this season, so Dan River's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Patrick County, they are taking a road trip to square off against Chatham at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
