Softball Recap: Moore Haven Has No Trouble Against Vero Beach

Moore Haven hadn't done well against Vero Beach recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Terriers were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Indians. The result was nothing new for the Terriers, who have now won five matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Charisma Micco spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Preslynn Baker was incredible, firing off two home runs, four RBI, and one double while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Sergent, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Baker wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Moore Haven lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Moore Haven's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Vero Beach, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Moore Haven wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 10-0 loss against LaBelle on the 9th. As for Vero Beach, they have also already played their next game, a 4-1 win against Satellite on the 5th.
