Softball Recap: Sabinal Yellowjackets vs. Brackett Tigers
Sabinal extended their losing streak to 12 on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-16. They came up short against the Brackett Tigers, falling 16-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 27-4 back in March.
As for Brackett, their victory bumped their record up to 6-9. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their one-run performance the game before.
For Brackett's part, Alianna Valdez was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Valdez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Layla Johnson, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Sabinal will square off against rival Falls City at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Brackett is set to challenge their familiar foe Three Rivers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
