Baseball Recap: Howell Beats Shore Regional for Their Third Straight Victory

Howell waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Shore Regional Blue Devils by a score of 10-5. While the Rebels didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Howell let Jack Quinn and Matt Vetrano run wild. Quinn went 2-for-4 with four runs, one double, and one RBI, while Vetrano went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Those three hits gave Vetrano a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Antonio Magistrelli, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Howell's victory bumped their record up to 8-4-1. As for Shore Regional, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Howell will take on Colts Neck at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Rebels' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Shore Regional, they will be playing at home against Monmouth Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
