Basketball Recap: Gibson Southern Titans vs. Evansville Mater Dei Wildcats
The Gibson Southern Titans had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They strolled past Evansville Mater Dei with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 60-44. Winning may never get old, but Gibson Southern sure is getting used to it with their 11th in a row.
Gibson Southern got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nola Ravellette out in front who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Gabby Spink, who scored 20 points along with six assists and two steals.
Gibson Southern has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. As for Evansville Mater Dei, their loss dropped their record down to 9-14.
Gibson Southern is on the road again on Friday and plays the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Hopefully Evansville Memorial focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Thursday. Evansville Mater Dei does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
