St. Edward (Lakewood, Ohio) did the unimaginable and redefined the term ''perfect game.''
Edwards not only hurled a perfect game, but struck out all 15 batters he faced with 11 going down swinging in a 10-0, five-inning mercy rule win over John Marshall. And the legendary performance occurred during the Division I Strongsville Sectional Championship.

"It was a pretty relieving moment when I struck out the last batter," Edwards said. "It was certainly the best game of my career."
The George Washington University commit is 4-1 (0.96 ERA), has struck out 57 batters in 45 innings, and has given up just 26 hits this season.
Edwards will take the mound again today in the district semifinal against Lakewood.
Earlier this year, Kyle Muller of Dallas Jesuit struck out 15 batters in a row in a five-inning 14-0 no-hitter against Sunset, but the first batter of the game reached base on an error. He also struck out the first 18 batters of the next game before giving up a hit.
The last time a pitcher struck out all 21 batters in a perfect game was in April of 2014, when Mike Delio of Carle Place (N.Y.) performed the feat in his first career varsity start.
