After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Temescal Canyon, Murrieta Mesa was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Heritage Patriots 3-1. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Murrieta Mesa's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Zach Janczyk, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Murrieta Mesa's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Heritage, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-3.

Murrieta Mesa will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Santana at 4:00 p.m. on the 31st. As for Heritage, they will square off against Kaiser at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Kaiser's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Heritage's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
