Volleyball Recap: Riverside-Durham Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Riverside-Durham was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Southern School of Energy and Sustainability on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pirates lost 3-0 to the East Chapel Hill Wildcats on Thursday. The shutout was out of character for the Pirates seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in August.

While Riverside-Durham was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-16, 25-23.

Londynn Campbell paced Riverside-Durham's offense, picking up five kills. Campbell got some help from Olivia McKinney and her seven assists. Nureen Khan controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Leading East Chapel Hill to victory were Lucy Tisch and Kaitlyn Ciapciak. Tisch had 16 digs and two aces, while Ciapciak had 12 assists and four digs. What's more, Tisch posted five assists, the most she's had since back in September of 2024.

Riverside-Durham's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-4. As for East Chapel Hill, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Riverside-Durham has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Chapel Hill on the 23rd. As for East Chapel Hill, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Southern School of Energy and Sustainability on the 23rd.
