Softball Recap: Powhatan Picks Up Third Straight Win at Home

Powhatan had won three straight at home, but on Friday they bumped their record up to 12-7 to make it four. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Monacan Chiefs a 3-0 shutout. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Chiefs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

The result came thanks to Brooklyn Narbut's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Powhatan secured the win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Ava Harper, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Powhatan hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Monacan struck out 11 times.

As for Monacan, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13. They have struggled against Powhatan recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

On Monacan's side, Morgan Wilcheck was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one double.

As of now, neither Powhatan nor the Chiefs have any future games scheduled.
