Williamstown extended the longest winning streak in West Jersey - American this week by beating Triton, 37-8. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Cherry Hill East moved up to 47 from 86 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Cougars climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Paul VI 39-21.
John Chamberlin was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 98 yards on 16 carries as Williamstown defeated the Mustangs. Teammate Little added to the ground attack by rushing for 67 yards.
Doug Banks provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Frank Fucetola's team bested Triton. He completed seven passes for 130 yards and also ran for four yards. Banks' favorite target this week was Little, who caught three passes for 67 yards.
Trevor Osler put up the best numbers through the air as Cherokee defeated Shawnee. He finished with 13 completions for 122 yards and one touchdown. Osler's favorite target this week was Matthew Curry, who caught three passes for 37 yards.
The Chiefs' Osler and Jake Powell have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading West Jersey - American in both passing and receiving yards. Osler has thrown for 622 yards this season, while Powell, a 6-foot-5 receiver, has 21 catches for 235 yards. Chamberlin from the Braves leads the league in rushing with 713 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Washington Township takes on Cherry Hill East. At the moment, the Minutemen are in second, while Tom Coen's team is in fourth.
Eastern was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after besting Clearview. The Vikings came in at 22 in the state poll after placing at number 40 last week.
