Basketball Recap: Urbana Comes Up Short

Urbana was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They lost 44-20 to the Charleston Trojans. The Tigers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Trojans from their previous meeting back in November of 2023.

Charleston's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Samantha Fehrenbacher, who posted ten points. Another player making a difference was Mickaylee Patton, who earned eight points.

Urbana's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Charleston, their victory bumped their record up to 4-18.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Urbana has already played their next matchup (against Champaign Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Charleston will venture away from home to challenge Mahomet-Seymour at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mahomet-Seymour will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Charleston surely won't give up without a fight.
