 Canutillo is 8-2 against Jefferson since March of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success  on Monday. The Canutillo Eagles will be playing at home against the Jefferson Silver Foxes at 4:00  p.m. Canutillo is coming into the  match hot, having won their last 14 games.
 In what's become a running theme this season, Canutillo gave their fans yet another huge  win on Friday. Everything went their way against Chapin as Canutillo made off with  an  11-1 victory.
  Dante Gomez spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered one  run (which was  unearned)  on six hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in five consecutive pitching appearances.
 On the hitting side, Canutillo got a  massive  performance out of  Emilio Melendez, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of  Enrique Guerra, who  scored three  runs and  stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
 Meanwhile, Jefferson won against El Paso  on Monday with eight  runs and they decided to stick to that  run total again  on Friday. Jefferson came out on top against Andress by a score of  8-3. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for Jefferson.
  Ricardo Osuna and  Sebastian Villa made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing,  Osuna   struck out seven batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile,  Villa   pitched 3.1 innings while giving up   no  earned run off   one  hit. At the plate,  Osuna  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances, while  Villa  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 3-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Eden Perez was  incredible,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Adrian Cabral, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-4.
 Canutillo is  on a roll lately: they've  won 16 of their last 17 contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record  this season. As for Jefferson, they now  have a winning record of 12-11.
 Monday's   matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Canutillo has hit smart this season,  having  averaged  an OBP of .468. However, it's not like Jefferson struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .435. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
