Recap: Blair Bears vs. Elkhorn North

If the Blair Bears were feeling good off their 46-17 takedown of the Lincoln Northwest Falcons last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Blair took a serious blow against Elkhorn North on Thursday, falling 80-43. While losing is never fun, Blair can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while Elkhorn North is ranked first).

Several Bears players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Taytum Macholan, who scored nine points.

Blair's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Elkhorn North, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 14-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blair will square off against Lewis Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Elkhorn North won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Waverly on January 26th. Waverly will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
