Basketball Game Preview: Robertson Cardinals vs. Bosque Bobcats

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Robertson Cardinals face off against the Bosque Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday... Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Robertson sitting on 11 straight victories and Bosque on five.

Robertson is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Raton: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Robertson blew Raton out of the water with an 80-39 final score. The Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.

Robertson got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jesse James Gonzales out in front who went 8 of 11 en route to 20 points and seven assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathaniel Gonzales, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 boards.

Jesse James wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Robertson was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Bosque strolled past Tucumcari with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 57-41.

Robertson's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.4 points per game. As for Bosque, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.

Robertson beat Bosque 73-62 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Robertson since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
