Carlos China and Aaron Hernandez provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Schurr. The connection went for 77 yards, the longest such play in Almont this season.
Montebello moved up to 451 from 477 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Oilers climbed the ranks as a result of topping the Spartans 14-7.
Hernandez was the best receiver in the league this week as Montebello defeated Schurr. Hernandez tallied 1 reception for 77 yards. Edgar Gonzalez helped Montebello's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 10 yards.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Gonzalez. The Montebello star has 19 catches for 605 yards.
Adding to the longest winning streak in Almont this week, Pete Gonzalez's team beat Marco Ramirez's team 14-7. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
