Recap: Beaufort Academy Eagles vs. Cross Schools Stingrays
On Friday, Beaufort Academy took a serious blow against Cross Schools, falling 80-41. Beaufort Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-22.
Cross Schools got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Genesis Wilson out in front who scored 17 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Those six assists set a new season-high mark for her. Ryan Mayers was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds.
Beaufort Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Cross Schools, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Beaufort Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Hilton Head Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cross Schools won't have much time to rest: their next game is against St. Joseph's Catholic at 1:30 p.m. on December 9th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (St. Joseph's Catholic is ranked 69th, while Cross Schools is ranked 75th).
